I have worked with both the Veritas and the LN spokeshaves. The Veritas is good for rough work because of the adjustibility. I tune my LN for a finish cut and it works great. With that light of a cut i find I am able to work with and against the grain in tough situations. Both are top notch tools!
I was doing bills in quicken while listening to your cost of living rant and everytime I enter a check I’d get the “cha-ching” sound over your voice, Oh the metaphor.
I do what Shannon does above except I’ve got an old stanley for rough, then the LN shave you talk about. I like the LN, but I’m always messing with its adjustment……..We heard what Kaleo does, how do you adjust yours Shannon???? That’s one of my areas to get answers on at Woodworking in America. It works fine and I get excellent results, but intuitively I feel it shouldn’t require the mussing I do.
Kaleo,
I have both the Fein Multi-master and the Rigid oscillating spindle/belt sander.
I’ve been happy with both tools. I’ve mostly used the Multi-master to under-cut doorway trim when installing floating floors. I love the versatility of the Rigid.
It’s so lite and easy to move around and everything stows on board.
