“Grain Flow” Box Series part 1, Episode 5
So here we go with the box. Now this box is going to be a simple box, with miters with either keys or splines. A nice veneered top and maybe a nice tray with some suede lining. In this episode I introduce the box and “Grain Flow”. We’ll do the rough dimensioning and get our piece ready. Thanks for watching.
if you have the time please fill out the new viewer and listener survey: it’s all anonymous, thanks

Kaleo, Thanks for the tip on putting the mismatched grain on the back left corner. That is a good one to remember.

thanks for the video kaleo. i know what you mean about being all giddy about your first commission. I’m just finishing mine up and i have one out of the two mirror frames done. i only had 2 clamps at the time (now i have 6) so the first one was ahead and the finish is on that and it is so nice. now i can’t wait to start finishing the second one. I’ll send you the link to the project when I’m done. can’t wait to see the finished box!

Looking for the continuous grain matching was something I hadn’t thought of. Thanks for the tip.

Captain K what a simple trick, I will remember it when I make my box. This is why I will watch the whole box series, to learn the things most of us overlook. I intend to follow along with a box of my own, so can’t wait for the next video. Thanks
