Wow! The iPhone takes good shots! Sucks about the flooding. It takes us close to a years to get 7 inches of rain. How's the job going? Are you enjoying yourself? It sounds like you get some good opportunities for creativity.

Hey thanks a lot guys. For those of you that asked about how study the table is. Well like Jim said, I think that a lot of us over structualize pieces. (I don't even know if that's a word) This one will be strong enough to hold up, but you won't be able to sit or stand on it. But it is a table.

Shannon- as for the pictures thanks. To be honest I did try to get some good lighting, but I took the pictures with my Iphone.

Kaleo,

Very cool design. I love that you just threw this together at the last minute. Absolutely beautiful. Also, the pictures are artwork by themselves. Nice use of lighting! Sorry to hear about the water. We got a lot up here in MD too, but I live on a hill so my neighbors get all my runoff and I have stayed dry so far. Good luck with the tables, are you advertising them as an outdoor piece (slatted top)?

Nice looking piece. And the cross slats floating looks cool and makes me wonder, hmmmm, can you do that (lol).

I like the simplicity and clean lines, also the creative aspects of the floating slats, and also the colors.

I also am curious about how sturdy it is. I would have been concerned about it's strength and would have over done it structurally which would have messed up its lines I'm sure.

I live in Oakton, VA and have cabin fever from all the rain and not being able to get outside...

Have you moved to Maryland??

The tables look great. Good luck getting them sold. Sorry to hear about the flooding, I went through that several years ago.

You mention that this table is "pretty heavy, but plenty sturdy". Looking at the legs, I can't help but wonder about strength along the table's long axis. Without any kind of cross-bracing or aprons to give horizontal support to legs, I would be worried (if I were to design a piece with those sort of legs) about it collapsing. Did you have to do any special joinery to make the leg-top joint strong enough to resist horizontal pressure?

Sorry to hear about the flooding. That sucks.

The table looks great though! Off topic - how do you get the photos to come up like that, sort of overlayed on top of the main screen? That's pretty slick - I noticed TWW and LumberJocks project pages also do it like that.
